This week we are debuting Connect Stewart/Hunter, a Web site aimed directly at the military community in and around Fort Stewart and its Hunter Army Airfield. It also targets the dependents, retirees and civilians who are in this area because of the troops stationed here.
The 3rd Infantry Division and its supporting units are what drives this area.
Connect Stewart/Hunter has several distinct parts:
* Ft. Stewart/Hunter Life, which hopefully will grow into an online community where military family members and those of us who support the military will post photos of themselves and their events, write blogs about their thoughts and activities, and publicize their upcoming events in the calendar. There's even an an instant messaging system for users to send messages to one-another that others cannot see.
* Frontline news taken directly from the installations official publication by that name.
* Entertainment areas, including Savannah Scene, which focuses on music in the bars and other venues and events around Savannah, What's Up, which is a growing list of topics of anything that may interest soldiers and their families.
* A tribute to those soldiers memorialized on Warriors Walk.
* A dining guide where you can not only find how which eateries serve what in the region, but also rate the food and service.
* A real estate guide that has hundreds of listings across the region.
* Videos from a variety of sources ranging from official military sites to media operations in Liberty and Bryan counties to national movie distributors. And the site is growing, we are constantly looking for new items to include. So, if you have any ideas about something you'd like include just drop us an email. The "Suggestions" link on the Ft. Stewart/Hunter Life page comes directly to me.

Back-to-school libations?
August 05, 2011
Lord knows it's hard to come up with themes and promotions, especially when you face a weekly or even monthly deadline. A Savannah hotel's August theme shows just  how desperate marketers can get sometimes. Here's the first few paragraphs of their release:"COCKTAIL 101:  AVIA SAVANNAH GETS AN A+ FOR ITS ...
