A June 15 article in the Bayonet, the post newspaper at Fort Benning, contains an interesting article esplaining that visitors passes are no longer necessary for motorists entering the gates there. Cameras record the license plates . . . i will post more information on this when possible.

Ive been to Benning to visit friends and I nmust say for them to also be part of 3rd ID they are well more advanced there than we are here. They use scanners to scan all ID's. Which makes sense seeing as if you are no longer a army spouse or dependent and didnt surrender your ID, they can scan it and see you are no longer with the Army. I actually loved it there and we are hoping that we can get PCS'd there as well.

Defenselink today brings news that Col. Robert P. White, has been selected for the rank of brigadier general and named deputy commander, 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Stewart.
