As my husband's deployment is now over half way done, I am part of my FRG and i've been trying to really keep in contact with my wives and family members. But as I do, Im noticing that some have disconnected numbers, email addresses that dont work, or have left the vacinity and did not inform us.

Please know that we need to have the correct information to get in touch with you. In case of an emergency, etc. We dont want the information because we are being nosy or trying to control what you do in your everyday life. During deployments, unfortunately, bad things can happen. And when that does, we need to make sure that we (along with Rear D) have that information. If you leave the state and we have no way to contact you or have any idea where you are, how are we supposed to inform you of things?

I know that most soldiers do tell you that the FRG is no good, gossip rings, etc. And yes, Ive had that experience in past deployments. Mine was actually disbanned by a CO in 2005. NOT GOOD. But each deployment I do volunteer to help. Because mainly new wives, soldiers, families, need to know that we are a form of support, and we are really here to help. Sp please, before you judge your FRG, get to know them and attend meetings, or functions. Dont just wait till the end of the deployment and hit up the briefings. Be involved. If its not good, then help MAKE it good.

In my FRG, we only had 2 women as POC for 200 soldiers families. I couldnt stand idely by and let these 2 women become so overwhelmed with this, and not only try to raise money for the company, schedule events, and try to make things easier for the wives and families during the deployment. We want to be there for you. For happy occasions as well as not so happy. For births, birthdays, holidays that we have to spend alone. It makes a deployment a lot easier to handle with friends nearby. Especially a veteran such as myself. I am surviving my 3rd deployment. My husband and I have been together 6 years, but actually TOGETHER 3 of those. Married 4 years but hes been home for only two of those.

So trust me, I got this!!! Army wives are a totally different breed. We juggle so much at once all alone half the time. We endure long seperations, moving, sometimes pregnancies while they are gone, raising kids all alone, doing all we can to keep the home fires burning. And sometimes it just drains the life out of you. but always know you are not alone.
