A judge down in Florida has overturned a law passed by the legislature there and signed by Gov. Lord knows it's hard to come up with themes and promotions, especially when you face a weekly or even monthly deadline. A Savannah hotel's August theme shows just  how desperate marketers can get sometimes. A June 15 article in the Bayonet, the post newspaper at Fort Benning, contains an interesting article esplaining that visitors passes are no longer necessary for motorists entering the gates there. Cameras record the license plates . . . i will post more information on this when possible.

WASHINGTON -- A military advisory panel appears poised to recommend allowing female troops to serve in combat units without any restrictions, calling the current prohibition an out-of-date idea that unnecessarily discriminates against women.
